What Riffboard is

Riffboard is a desktop workspace for capturing musical ideas quickly. Short performances become movable Rifflets — notation, tablature, and source audio — that live on a spatial board where they can be moved, clustered, and connected into playable sequences.

Music View opens one or more Rifflets as continuous readable notation and tablature. When you need a full notation application, Riffboard is designed to prepare ideas for handoff rather than replace that tool.

Why it exists

Musical ideas often disappear while musicians are opening recording software, configuring tracks, or preparing a notation editor. The moment between playing something worth keeping and having somewhere to keep it is exactly where ideas get lost.

Riffboard is designed to preserve the idea first and postpone complexity. Capture is a single focused act; everything else — arranging, connecting, reading, and preparing for export — happens afterward, at whatever pace the idea deserves.
